After School - Across the Street
After School - Across the Street is located directly across the street from McKnight Middle School, at 1700 Edmonds Ave. NE, Renton, WA 98056
Students who attend either of these programs will be given a permission slip to be filled out and signed by their parent/guardian.
Tuesday After School Tutoring & Homework Help
(2:35-4:00 pm)
The After School tutoring program provides a quiet, safe place for students to receive academic support from adult supervisors and competent high school volunteers. Homework help is available, but students will also complete other activities which serve to strengthen their areas of academic weakness as well as provide instruction in study and test taking skills. Computer literacy focusing on educational components will also be an integral part of the instruction given to students.
Thursday After School Structured Programming
(2:35-4:00 pm)
The After School program provides a safe, fun place for students to have a snack, connect, complete crafts, take part in creative activities, music experiences, video games, engage with special guest speakers from the community, play basketball, and much, much more. This is a non-religious program offered by the non-profit, After School – Across the Street, in partnership with McKnight Middle School. The program is supervised by volunteer adults and high school students. At 4:00 when students leave the building they may walk home, be picked up, or ride the McKnight activity bus.

Friday Before School
(7:30-9:15 am)
A FREE pancake breakfast for students is offered during this time on late start mornings. Space is provided to connect, work on homework, and play basketball or board/video games. At 9:00 when students leave the building, they walk across the street to begin their school day at McKnight.
