Lancer Days

Lancer Days is an opportunity to visit the campus, collect items and schedules, take pictures, pay fees, take a tour, and get questions answered. You can attend either day, but Wednesday, August 23rd is geared toward 6th Graders specifically.

Lancer days will take place on:

Tuesday, August 22nd 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM,   2:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Wednesday, August 23rd 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Hello McKnight Families:

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  We hope you have had time this summer to relax and have fun with family and friends.  We know you are balancing many different things as you prepare for the first day of school.    

At McKnight, we are committed to creating a student-centered environment.  This means academic excellence, and lifelong learning are key values for us.  In addition, we nurture the social and emotional growth and development of each student.  We are guided by Renton’s School District strategic plan and focus our work on service, equity, and excellence.  We have goals aligned to our strategic plan focused on three ideas: core learning and teaching, social emotional learning, and family and community engagement.

School Office Hours

McKnight's Office will continue to be open through June 27th. The Office will close for the summer beginning June 28th, and reopen on Friday, August 11th. Visit us Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM.

First Day of School

The first day of school is August 30th. School begins at 7:55. Please visit our transportation website for bus routes and times.

School Supplies

As part of continued efforts to improve Service, Excellence, and Equity for all students and families, Renton School District is offering school supplies for all elementary students. Families pay a one-time fee of $30 ($10 for families with free/reduced lunch) for school supplies in the 2023-2024 school year. Families can pay the one-time school supply fee online or by check/cash at their school.

Please be sure your information is updated in Skyward.  Follow this link to family access and update your information using the “Annual Update” tab.

Families can receive text messages from school and the district
Along with email messages and phone calls, families can also sign-up for text messages from school/district. From your cell phone, text "Y" to the number 68453. You'll get a confirmation text message. Respond with Y for Yes, and you're signed up for text messages. (Charges may apply depending on phone text message plan.)
